Advantages of SI unit:

SI unit is racial system, in which only one unit is used for one physical quantity. 

SI unit is a coherent system, which means all the derived units can be easily obtained from basic and supplementary units. 

SI unit is per metric system which means that multiplies and submultiples can be expressed as powers of 10.
